LIGO's O3 Commissioning Break Oct 1-31
The LIGO Hanford and Livingston observatories have started a commissioning break on October 1 at 0800 PDT (1500 UTC), during which neither observatory will be operating in the observing mode. The purpose of the break is to install instrument upgrades and make repairs. The observatories will resume their operation on November 1 at 0800 PDT (1500 UTC). To preserve the 12 month O3 observing period, the end date for O3 is planned to be April 30, 2020.
