Dr Michael Landry is the Lead Detection Scientist at the LIGO Hanford Observatory (LHO) in Washington state. He was an invited speaker at the TEDxYYC 2016 event held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on June 24, 2016. His talk, titled "The Universe Speaks of Black Hole Collisions," described the 2 LIGO discoveries to date, and how they're opening a new window on the Universe by allowing us to listen to it for the 1st time.
